Kang Dana, who has yet to win a tournament prize on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour this year, was lucky enough to win a 20 million won diamond for a hole-in-one.

Kang made a hole-in-one on the sixth hole (par-3) of the second round of the KLPGA Tour’s McCall-Mona Yongpyong Open at Birch Hill Golf Club (par-72) in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do on Sept. 29, when her tee shot went straight into the hole.

The hole-in-one prize was a 1-carat diamond. It’s worth about $20 million in local currency.

“I calculated the headwind from 145 yards and hit a 7-iron. I saw the ball go in,” he said, adding, “I’d like to keep the diamond as a memento, but I’ll have to discuss it with my parents.”

This is the first hole-in-one on the KLPGA Tour for Kang, who has two on the Dream Tour, and her third in an official event.

Kang made her debut on the KLPGA Tour in 2022 but lost her seeding after finishing 95th on the money list, and has been playing primarily on the Dream Tour last year and this year.

Last year, she finished 48th in the seeding and had few opportunities to compete on the KLPGA Tour.

This year, she competed in two KLPGA Tour events, the BC Card-Hankyung Ladies Cup and the E1 Charity Open, but missed the cut and did not earn any prize money.

“I want to be in the top 20 on the Dream Tour and come to the regular tour next year, and I want to do as well as I can in the regular tour events that I can,” Kang said.

After earning his way into the McCall-Mona Yong pyong Open with a hole-in-one, Kang shot a 1-under 71 in the second round, but the pressure of losing two strokes the day before made it difficult to make the cut. 메이저사이트
