The youth national team, which will be responsible for the future of sepaktakraw in Korea, departed for Thailand via Incheon International Airport on Monday.
“A total of 42 players left for Thailand to participate in the 20th Pattaya Cup Sepaktacraw,” the Korea Sepaktacraw Association said.
After three days of acclimatization training upon arrival, the Korean team will participate in the tournament, which opened on Aug. 31 and will run through Sept. 3.
A total of four teams will compete in the under-19 men’s and women’s teams and the under-21 men’s and women’s teams in the regu (three-man) competition.
Oh Joo-young, president of the Korean Sepaktacraw Association, said, “We hope this will be a meaningful time to grow to the next level through overseas training and participation in international competitions. The national trainer will also accompany us, which will help us manage our physical condition.” 토토
