The Pohang Steelers of the K League of Professional Football (KPFL) won a drama-filled victory.

Pohang defeated Daejeon Hana Citizen 4-3 in the 27th round of the K League 1 on Tuesday at Pohang Steel Yard. With 49 points, Pohang is in second place behind Ulsan Hyundai (60 points). Daejeon (36 points) remains in seventh place.

Pohang took the lead in the 41st minute on a header by Zeca (26-Brazil). Six minutes into the second half, Zeca rattled the net with another header, and when Kim Seung-dae (32) added a goal in the 31st minute, Pohang looked to be on their way to an easy win.

Daejeon had Thiago (30-Brazil), who opened the scoring with a header in the 35th minute, scored three minutes later with a right-footed shot, and completed his hat trick with a header six minutes into stoppage time. For Pohang, it looked like they were going to snatch a well-deserved victory.

But you never know until the end. In the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time, Pohang’s Hong Yun-sang (21) scored the final goal with his head and became the hero of the match. The young player, born in 2002, made his K League debut as a late substitute and immediately scored a goal. After the dramatic goal, Pohang coach Kim Ki-dong pumped his fists in the air and celebrated like a child.

Thiago’s brilliance was short-lived, but with three more goals, he took his tally to 12 for the season, overtaking Lee In-jong-kyu (33-Ulsan) as the league’s top scorer. With his seventh goal, Zeca moved into a tie for ninth place. 파워볼
