Bayern Munich’s board of directors seem to believe that Thomas Tuchel has finally parted ways with the club because he wanted to join Manchester United.
“The Munich board are convinced that negotiations for a new contract have fallen through because Tuchel has already secured a job at Manchester United,” Christian Falk, the Munich-based reporter for Germany’s Bild, wrote on social media on Friday.
The German coach was recognized for his leadership at Mainz and Dortmund. He went on to win trophies with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Chelsea, including two French Ligue 1 titles and one UEFA Champions League (UCL) title. However, his spells in charge were generally short-lived, and he joined Munich as Julian Nagelsmann’s successor.
The mid-season coaching change paid off for Munich, as they won their 11th consecutive league title. But it was a shaky finish.
