Hwang In-Beom Wants 2 EPL Clubs→Summer Football End of Season Entry

Hwang In-Beom has a chance to join the big leagues in Europe.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers, the club of his best friend Hwang Hee-chan, are one of the teams interested.

Serbian media outlet Meridiansport reported on Nov. 27 (KST) that Hwang In-beom has received interest from two Premier League teams.

The report said, “Hwang In-beom is attracting interest from two Premier League teams. “Scouts from both clubs attended the derby match between Zvezda and Partizan, and he played a great game, leading his team to victory and a place in the final of the cup competition,” the report said.

Hwang In-Beom’s club Tsrvena Zvezda defeated rivals Partizan 2-0 in the Serbian Cup semifinals at the Raiko Mitic Stadium in Belgrade, Serbia, on Friday to advance to the final. Hwang In-Beom, who started the match, gave his team the lead in the 28th minute of the first half when he set up an own goal.

Hwang picked up the ball on the right flank, folded once, and perfectly evaded a defender who attempted to tackle him.

He then sent a left-footed cross towards Munjeon near the penalty line, where teammate Peter Olanika’s header rattled off a defender’s leg and into the net. Olanika completed the 2-0 victory two minutes later when he scored himself with his left foot in the box.

On the other side of the ball is Ko Young-joon. Hwang In-beom helped his team reach the final of their cup competition by forcing an own goal from the opposing defense in the ‘Korean Derby’ in Eastern Europe.

Zvezda also leads the Serbian regular season with 80 points. The Serbian Cup semifinal win paved the way for Hwang to win two titles in his first year with his new team.

He also showed that he is more than capable of competing in the big leagues.

There were local reports of Premier League scouts at the game, which turned out to be Wolverhampton and Palace scouts.

“Premier League scouts are coming to ‘Maracana’ to watch the Serbian Cup semifinals,” Serbian media outlet ‘Informer’ reported on March 23, “and the reason they are coming is because of Hwang In-beom.”

“Hwang In-beom has been in the spotlight since he moved to Zvezda from Olympiakos in Greece for €5.5 million last summer,” the media outlet said, adding, “He hasn’t defined his performance with assists or goals, but he has been the best in the team on many occasions, and his play is highly appreciated in modern football.”

“He is not afraid to fight, pass between opponents and deliver precise passes to his teammates, which always creates good scoring chances.” “According to our sources, a Premier League club is interested in him.”

“Garry O’Neill could have a top player in Hwang Hee-chan in Wolverhampton,” said the English 스포츠토토 Football Fancast on Feb. 26, adding that the club has sent scouts to watch Hwang play this week.

The reason why Wolverhampton would want to sign Hwang is simple. It’s a resource that would be a great addition to their injury-riddled squad.

“Wolverhampton suffered another defeat in the Premier League in midweek. It”s a huge blow to their chances of reaching higher positions. O’Neill’s debut season has been largely positive, but progress has been slowed by an injury crisis over the past few weeks, with Pedro Neto, Hwang Hee-chan, Mateusz Cunha, Craig Dawson and others who have been at the top of their game all season all suffering injuries.”

“O’Neill is running out of squad options. He’s hoping to bring in a few players this summer, and with the need to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, there could be some player sales.” ‘One of the potential signings is Hwang In-Bum, another South Korean player who knows Hwang Hee-Chan well,’ he added.

“Central midfield is definitely a position that needs to be strengthened ahead of next season,” said Football Fancast. Hwang In-bum joined Zvezda from Olympiakos in Greece last summer. He has only been with the club for a year but his performances in recent months have attracted attention and Wolverhampton are said to be interested in him.”

Talking Wolves also reported that “several Premier League clubs have sent scouts to the Serbian Cup semifinal between Zvezda and Partizan, with Wolverhampton among those interested in 27-year-old midfielder Hwang In-beom.”

If Hwang In-Bum joins Hwang Hee-Chan, who already plays for Wolverhampton, it would be a huge deal for South Korean fans. The only other time two players have played for the same Premier League club was the Ji Dong-won-Ki Sung-yong duo at Sunderland in the 2013-2014 season.
