Grand Korea Leisure Inc., which operates foreigner-only casinos in South Korea, said Monday that its casino sales in June reached 14.82 billion won, up 45.6 percent from the previous month. The sales were up 18.7 percent year-on-year, the company said.
Grand Korea Leisure’s table game sales reached nearly W13.28 billion in June this year, up 60.6 percent from May. Compared to the same period last year, the figure was up 27.0 percent.
For the month, machine game sales fell 19.3% sequentially to 1.54 billion won, and decreased 24.0% year-on-year.
Grand Korea Leisure, listed on the Korea Exchange, is a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization and is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Korea.
The casino operator operates three foreigner-only casinos in Korea under the Seven Luck brand. There are two in the capital city of Seoul and one in the southern port city of Busan.
In the first half of 2021, Grand Korea Leisure’s casino sales fell 69.7% year-on-year to just under 40.29 billion won.
The total sales of table games during the period were 34.21 billion won, down 71.0% from the same period last year.
In the first six months of this year, machine game sales were KRW 6.08 billion, down 59.3% year-over-year.
