According to a Thursday press release from W Hotels, Hotel W Macao at the Macau Studio City Casino Resort will “open on Sept. 8.” It will add 557 rooms and suites (e.g., photos) to the Studio City complex.
The “W Hotel” mark is the brand of hotel giant Marriott International.
According to Thursday’s announcement, W Macau has four food and beverage stores, including two bars. Spa facilities and meeting and event spaces will also be set up.
Studio City’s majority shareholder, Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd, said W Macau would open “in September” in early August when it reports the group’s second quarter results.
According to an announcement Thursday, W Macao stated, “Reservations have now begun.” When GGRAsia tried to inquire about reservations through the Marriott Bonvoy Hotel Group’s online booking engine, the message returned: “Sorry, we don’t have any rooms available for the date of your choice at this time.”
As of Thursday afternoon, Studio City’s official website still did not mention W Macau as a “stay” section.

In April, Studio City announced the opening of the initial additional tower at the second stage of the 338-suite Epic Tower. Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, president and chief executive officer of Melco Resorts, said he was opening the company’s “for known customers first” at GGRAsia.
