KIA said on the 27th, “We will leave for Australia on the 30th and run spring camps at Narrabundah Ballpark in Canberra and Okinawa, Japan, from February 1st to March 6th.”
The upcoming spring camp will involve 67 players, including 20 coaching staff and 47 players. The team will include 22 pitchers, four catchers, 12 infielders and nine outfielders. Among the rookie players for 2024, pitchers Cho Dae-hyun and Kim Min-joo were on the list.
The upcoming spring camp will be divided into the first round (Australia) and the second round (Japan). Under the three-day training and one-day rest system, the camp will undergo physical, technical and tactical training in Canberra, Australia, before moving to Japan on Feb. 21 and starting the actual training system through March 6 at the Kinmen Stadium in Okinawa.
Meanwhile, the team is scheduled to play five practice games with KBO league teams starting with a practice game against KT Wiz on February 25, and plans to play a practice game with the Yakult Swallows, a Japanese professional baseball team, on the 27th.
