Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment has submitted a report to the prime minister establishing a $2.18 billion casino and resort plan for the Bandon region in the northern province of Quang Ninh, local journalist VN Express reported on Thursday.
The Bandon Casino Resort plan is allocated to a 245 hectare (605.4 acres) site in Bandon’s village of Bandon and is expected to be completed by “third quarter of 2032,” the report said.
The media said the project was mentioned in “late 2018” by the Quang Ninh provincial authorities.
It is one of several coastal resort projects awaiting approval to operate casinos. Only projects certified as leveraging investment capital of more than $2 billion were allowed to operate game licenses, Vietnam’s finance ministry reported in October last year, citing Vietnam’s finance ministry.
