New York reports $1 bln Sports Betting Handle in Sept

New York State’s mobile sports betting market, which had a summer of low trading volume, is now starting to pick up with the NFL’s return in September. 릴게임 Recently, the New York State Game Commission announced last month that nine digital sports books generated more than US$1 billion in total transactions. In addition to this, there is also a sales record.

New Yorkers can legally bet on sports events from Jan. 8, 2022, when Empire State launched its new digital market. A total of nine sportsbooks were allowed to operate in this segment, and within a year of its launch, the local market has already surpassed the $10 billion total bet.

For the second straight month in a relatively low betting summer and $800 million a month in handling, Empire State’s market has once again topped $1 billion in online trading volume. September’s handling reached $1.25 billion, a significant improvement from August, when the total bet collected by the nine operators was only $872.2 million.

In September, sportsbooks accounted for 11.4 percent of the total steering wheel, which is interestingly enough the same as August’s hold. Meanwhile, total game revenue in September was $143.3 million, a major upgrade to $99.6 million in August. September GGR is now a record market, beating January’s highs.

Once again, there was no surprise in terms of operator performance as FanDual led the market with the highest handle for the month. The sportsbook handled US$499.8 million of its total online bets and $31.2 million in net profit. Meanwhile, DraftKings came in second again with US$422.2 million and net income of $21.9 million. Both apps accounted for 73% of the market.

In the third spot in September was Caesars Sportsbook, the third operator to make a total bet of just over $100. The company closed the month at $163.1 million. Meanwhile, BaliBet, the last operator to enter the market, had a net profit of just $1.2 million and a net profit of $70,931.

The start of the NFL season received great attention from Empire State Betters. According to GeoComply, which provides geolocation services for many mobile sports books in the state, more than 103 million geolocation checks were conducted in the United States for the first set of NFL games. However, more than 15.7 million of them, or 15.2 percent, occurred in New York.

After the success of the Internet sports betting market, New York legislators are also looking to add online casinos to the mix. The latter now seems to be a question of when and if not. State Senator Joseph Adabo of D-Queens, a major supporter of the plan, said he would push for legalization of iGaming in the 2023 state budget.
