Ontario’s open eye gaming and sports betting market for private operators officially opened on April 4, 2022. Companies that have received regulatory approval from AGCO can now legally deliver online products to local audiences. ComeOn’s license to operate as a legitimate sportsbook app in the province officially went into effect on April 21, 2022, making it the 31st license to operate in a competitive market, set to expire in April 2024, and only the 12th operator will be granted a two-year registration.
The province has so far granted licenses to more than 30 operators, including some gambling giants, and brands such as Unibet, The Score, Bet River, 888, Pointbet, Leo Vegas, Bewin, Bet365, FanDuel, Bet MGM, and Caesars Entertainment have joined.
