Committee Rejects Red Deer Casino Expansion

Plans to expand Red Deer Resort and Casino are unlikely to go ahead. Last week, the city planning committee voted against developing an additional 2,000-person capacity at the property event center and building a parking lot across the street. 우리카지노탑 Members of the committee voted 4-2 against and cited insufficient on-site parking.

Not long ago, hotel owner O’Chise Hospitality Inc. announced plans to relocate the Jackpot Casino from downtown to the site of the former Cambridge Hotel Convention Center on the corner of 50th and 32nd Streets. Meanwhile, the existing hotel convention center in the southwest will be transformed into a casino property for approval.

However, the owner’s other plans were recently opened to the public. The idea is to develop a new 3,028-square-meter event center that will add 2,000 people to the site in the northeast of the land. A spokesperson for the company explained that its owners had previously stated that the plan was to use the space for additional parking.

However, in the plan presented to the MPC, the project will demolish the site’s current nightclub and replace it with a large modernized event center. The new amenities will more than double the club’s. In the application, the company asked the MPC to approve the minimum requirement of 577 units to 551 units.

To compensate for the decrease in parking lots, the plan would have built a future off-site parking lot on 32nd Street. However, the majority of the Commissioners thought that the lack of sufficient on-site parking lots could excessively affect the use or enjoyment of neighbouring properties and affect traffic flow. They voted 4-2 not to proceed with the project.

MPC members also questioned whether the proposed number of parking spaces would be sufficient to accommodate both casino and event centre customer vehicles. Mayor Ken Johnston and Cramer Vanstable County voted in favor of the development of the event center. But Lawrence Lee County and civic representatives Linda Cullen-Sike, Jack Engel and Tony McDonnell voted against it.

The Alberta Game Liquor and Cannabis Commission recently announced that it has increased the maximum capacity of VLT machines in the state from 6,000 to 6,098. These measures help debt-ridden airport authorities, which can be used as a way to recover game revenue from the unprecedented 2020 situation and related closures.

Meanwhile, in January 2023, experiential property investment trust VICI Properties reported that it had agreed to a deal to purchase four casino properties in Alberta, Canada, from Pure Gaming Canada Corporation. The four casino properties in question are Pure Casino Edmonton, Pure Casino Yellowhead, Pure Casino Calgary, and Pure Casino Lesbridge.
