‘Furnace’ Pohang beats Jeju 4-2 in hard-fought comeback…Jeju 8G winless swamp

The Pohang Steelers registered their first win in three games after a hard-fought battle.

Pohang defeated Jeju United 4-2 in the 23rd round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at Pohang Steel Yard at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. With the win, Pohang moved to 41 points and closed the gap on leaders Ulsan (53). Jeju remained in eighth place with 30 points, without a win in eight league games.

Pohang started with a 4-5-1 formation. Zeca, Baek Sung-dong, Go Young-joon, Kim Seung-dae, Kim Jun-ho, Oberdan, Wandelsson, Grant, Park Jun-yong, Park Seung-wook, and Hwang In-jae took the field first.

Jeju lined up in a 3-4-3 formation. Hayes-Yuri Jonatan-Gim Joo-gong, Kim Dae-hwan-Gim Bong-soo-Ki Hyuk-Ahn Tae-hyun, Lee Ju-yong-Yeon Je-woon-Gim Oh-kyu, and Kim Dong-jun started.

Jeju took the initiative in the early stages of the game. Jeju applied strong pressure from the front and threatened Pohang. Pohang struggled to defend against Jeju’s flanking attacks.

Pohang took the lead with a single shot. In the 15th minute, Kim Seung-dae sent in a cross from the right side that Yeon Je-woon couldn’t quite clear with his head, and the ball fell to Go Young-joon in front of the goal. Ko didn’t miss it and finished with an accurate left-footed shot.

Jeju fought back. In the 27th minute, Hayes’ powerful mid-range shot went just wide of the right side of the goal, and in the 28th minute, Yuri Jonatan found the back of the net after getting behind the defense but was ruled offside.

Pohang hit the ground running with goalkeeping misfortune. In the 34th minute, after receiving the ball on the left flank, Baek Sung-dong stripped the defense with a nice individual move and aimed for the goal with a right-footed curling kick. However, the ball left his right foot and hit the opposite goalpost.

Jeju equalized. In the ninth minute of the second half, Yuri Jonatan crossed into the center of the box, where Kim Joo-gong finished with a precise header to tie the game at 1-1.

With momentum on their side, Jeju turned the game around. In the 25th minute of the second half, Yeon Je-woon headed in a corner kick from the right. Yeon’s high delivery perfectly shook off the defense.

Pohang did not go down easily. In the 28th minute of the second half, Grant tied the game again when he headed home a free kick curled in by Wandelsson with his left foot.

Pohang quickly regained the lead. In the 29th minute, Wandelsson took a pass from Zeca, found space in the back left, and fired a fantastic left-footed shot into the top corner of the net. The speed was unbelievable.

Jeju didn’t give up on the fight for a point, but it was Pohang who needed the extra goal.

In the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time, Kim In-sung won the ball on the flank to start a counterattack, and Aubertan was one-on-one with the goalkeeper and passed the ball to the side greedily.

Kim Seung-dae slid the ball in to drive a wedge. In the end, the hard-fought match was settled with a 4-2 victory for Pohang. 카지노사이트
