Lee Seung-Cheol wins 7th straight mixed martial arts title vs. Southeast Asian Games bronze medal

South Korean fighter Seung Chul Lee will make his debut in Asian mixed martial arts organization ONE Championship. The question is whether he can extend his 1,470-day undefeated record on a bigger stage.

Lee will take on Moises Ilogon (PIL), the third-place finisher in the men’s -60 kg division at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games Kunk Mer, in a five-minute, three-round mixed martial arts strawweight bout at ONE Friday Fights 74 on April 9 at Lumpini Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

ONE Friday Fights is a brand launched by ONE Championship in Thailand in January 2023, featuring kickboxing and mixed martial arts, with a focus on Muay Thai, on Fridays at Lumpini Stadium. Lee will be looking to extend his winning streak to eight fights.

Kunchmer is a traditional martial art from Cambodia, which will host the 2023 Southeast Asian Games, replacing Thai Muay Thai as the official sport. Moises Ilogon is a three-time national champion in Muay Thai as well as Kunk Mer.

Lee has won all of his mixed martial arts fights since August 2020, with his only loss coming to Road to 메이저사이트 UFC Season 1 flyweight tournament runner-up Seung Kook Choi in his pro debut in February 2020.

Since then, Lee has gone on a seven-fight winning streak, dominating his opponents with five knockouts and two submission victories. Most notably, in October 2023, he knocked out former ONE Championship MMA flyweight title challenger Renee Catalán with a punch just 1:12 into the fight.

Moises Ilogon made an impressive debut in his first ONE Championship bout last November, scoring a TKO victory over Jo Jun-gun, a former 4th Heavenly King from the Season 1 Metropolitan Qualifiers of the YouTube reality program “High School King”. His kicking and punching combination attack caught the eye.

“A good result in this match will give both Moises Ilogon and Lee Seung-cheol a chance to win the $100,000 One Championship contract,” said Philippine sports media outlet Tiebreaker Times.

The match between Lee Seung-cheol and Moises Ilogon will be streamed on Coupang Play on October 10 at 9 a.m. KST.
