Genting Singapore continues to grow – and the results are even better than expected! In the first three months of the year, profits tripled and rose to S$276.7 million, or S$256.6 million.
Huge Revenue Growth:
VIP win rates are very high, and the results are supported by non-gaming businesses established by Resorts World Sentosa.
1H23 financial results were released. Profit for the previous year was up 57% from S$84.4 million ($62.7 million) to this year’s report. Gaming revenue rose to S$746.9 million ($555 million).
Non-game revenue also rose 82%, to S$333.2 million, or $248 million.
Consolidated revenue is also higher at S$1.08 billion ($248 million), up 63% year over year. Adjusted EBITDA was S$452.5 million ($337 million), up 68% from the first half of 2022.
Total gaming revenue was also up 3% quarter-on-quarter, according to the company report. It was S$547.9 million ($407 million) approaching revenue from 2019, when those results were better than later, perhaps due to constraints from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Non-gaming sales were also up 31% over the past quarter, at S$188.7 million ($140 million). As the company claimed, the main reason for this increase was to invest more effort in various marketing and promotional activities, which led to attendance and spending per customer on attractions.
Sales growth appears to be continuing, as sales at the famed Resort World Santosa property rose 85% in 2022. Will the growth continue? We’ll have to wait and see.
