Ohtani has 40 homers, 15 doubles in 114 team games
Surpassed Ken Griffey Jr.’s record of 117 games in 1998
Superstar Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) made history again.
Ohtani started in the No. 2 spot in the lineup and went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base in the Angels’ 2023 Major League Baseball game against the San Francisco Giants at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California, on Monday (Aug. 8).

On the mound, Ohtani is just as potent. In 21 appearances this year, Ohtani is 9-5 with a 3.32 ERA.
Despite Ohtani’s multi-hit, stolen base and runs scored performance, the Angels fell to 3-8 on the day.
With a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth inning, Carlos Estevez struggled, giving up five runs in ⅓ of an inning and six runs in the ninth.
